7 Emu Feathers – Original Cyanotype
This Cyanotype is an original one of a kind work of art. It is created on heavyweight, beautifully textured Arches watercolour paper. The size is 12 x 9 ins. and it is unframed.
I have a friend called Clare who has two beautiful emus called Kirby and Daphne. You can check them out @the_happy_emu on Instagram. The emus shed loads of feathers and Clare sells them as well as making beautiful creations with them. I acquired some of the feathers and used them to create this beautiful Cyanotype. The feathers are so delicate and I can’t believe how much detail has come through. I’m so excited to create more and to say a big thank you to Kirby and Daphne and Clare. The Cyanotype is created on beautifully textured watercolour paper. Size 10 x 8 ins.
The Cyanotype process was developed by Sir John Herschel in the 1840’s and shortly after used by the pioneering female early photographer Anna Atkins. A method of photography using sunlight without the use of a camera.
