Shibori is a method of textile design which uses threads or objects, applied to the fabric by hand to create a resist pattern which is revealed post dyeing. Natural indigo is mixed with water to create a dye bath in which to steep the cloth. Shibori has been employed since 8th century Japan some 1,300 years ago and originated in China. To create these prints I have created my own Shibori dyed cloth and scanned it. The designs are printed to order onto Hahnemuhle Photorag 308gsm fine art paper by a member of the Fine Art Trade Guild. They are limited editions, signed and numbered by me.
